Distributed systems and databases, digital currencies, and network and data privacy.


George's current research focusses on using statistical inference to measure user participation in p2p networks, development and deployment of DpComp, a benchmark suite for differentially private algorithms, and investigation of techniques for improving the security and scalability of Bitcoin.


George received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2010.  He spent several years in Boston working at mobile advertising startup Fiksu, followed by distributed database startup Hadapt.  He rejoined the College of Information and Computer Sciences at UMass Amherst in 2013.
