Diversity Statement: From a young age, my parents instilled in me a drive to seek out the truth, both as a moral imperative and as a mode of self-liberation. This has pushed me to not only advance my own understanding of what it means to promote truly diverse and inclusive spaces, considering my positioning as a white woman, but to critically interrogate why such spaces may not be diverse and inclusive to begin with. I am excited to explore this topic further in my honors senior thesis this coming academic year, and apply what I’m learning to the Office of Diversity and Inclusive Community Development here at CICS!
