Biography

Noman Bashir is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Advanced System Software (LASS), University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst working with Prof. Prashant Shenoy. His research addresses the issues of sustainability, equity, and transparency in computing and energy systems. 

He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at Sustainable Computing Lab, UMass Amherst where he was advised by Prof. David Irwin. His Ph.D. dissertation focused on improving the programmability of networked energy systems to enhance their reliability, scalability, explainability, and efficiency. 

Prior to joining UMass Amherst for Ph.D., he received MS in Energy Systems Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology Pakistan, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Pakistan.
