U.S. News & World Report Ranks Computer Science Graduate Program Top 10 Public Program in Nation

Best Colleges US News and World Report Rankings

The Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS) at UMass Amherst is ranked in the top ten of the nation’s public computer science graduate programs in the newly released U.S. News & World Report rankings, coming in at #8. Overall, CICS ranks 24th among 210 ranked public and private graduate computer science programs in the nation, tied with Johns Hopkins University and the University of Chicago.  

The U.S. News & World Report graduate computer science rankings reflect the judgment of academic officials at programs from peer institutions whose highest degree offered is a doctorate. U.S. News also uses peer assessment to evaluate graduate programs in four computer science specialty areas: Artificial Intelligence, Programming Languages, Systems, and Theory. Of those, CICS ranks #16 for Artificial Intelligence, #23 for Systems, and #23 for Programming Languages.
