University Launches Search for Founding Dean of CICS

University of Massachusetts Amherst provost, Katherine Newman, announced this week the launch of a search for the founding dean of the College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS).

The dean will have a unique opportunity to shape and grow the new college, building on the strong foundation of our highly ranked Computer Science program, which is in the midst of a major faculty hiring initiative and enjoying new growth in centers and multidisciplinary institutes.

The search committee is co-chaired by Marjorie Aelion, dean of the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, and Steve Goodwin, dean of the College of Natural Sciences. Bruce Croft, distinguished professor and director of the Center for Intelligent Information Retrieval, is serving as interim dean of CICS until a permanent dean is appointed.
