CICS PhD Student Huaizu Jiang Awarded Adobe Research Fellowship

UMass Amherst College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS) PhD student Huaizu Jiang has been named a 2019 Adobe Research Fellow. The Adobe Research Fellowship program acknowledges highly skilled graduate students conducting impactful research in the area of computer science. Jiang is among a group of 11 graduate students worldwide to receive this honor.

Jiang is advised by CICS Professor Erik Learned-Miller in the Computer Vision Lab. His research interests include computer vision, computational photography, machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence in general. His PhD thesis is about large-scale visual learning from unlabeled data, particularly from unlabeled videos.

Jiang earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree and a Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2009 and 2012, respectively.

The Adobe Research Fellowship provides resources and support to graduate students in their fields of research, allowing them both freedom to create, and collaboration with the Adobe Research team. Fellows are given a financial award, an Adobe Research mentor, and a summer internship at Adobe.
