CICS in the News: Coaches Connect Workshop Featured in Boston Globe

A feature story in The Boston Globe looks at UMass Amherst's Coaches Connect workshop held at the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center in Holyoke earlier this month. The workshop, now in its fifth year, helps parents and educators become familiar with concepts in computer programming.

Renee D. Fall, project manager for the College of Information and Computer Sciences' Commonwealth Alliance for Information Technology Education (CAITE) says that parents and coaches sometimes don't understand the technology that students are learning so this kind of program gets them a better understanding and helps them teach young people.

This year's workshop was co-hosted by CAITE and Expanding Computer Education Pathways, in partnership with Lego, FIRST, and Girls Inc. of Holyoke.
