Abstract: Recent media accounts have focused attention on the "reproducibility crisis" in a wide variety of scientific fields. What is the reproducibility crisis and why is it happening? Does the inability to replicate the findings of prominent published studies indicate fundamental flaws in the modern scientific process, or should such results be expected given how studies have come to be published and publicized?
