Join us for a DREAM Lab seminar, with guest speaker Boris Glavic, Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology, for his presentation, "Uncertainty Annotated Databases: A Lightweight and Expressive Model for Uncertain Data."
Boris Glavic is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Illinois Institute of Technology and leads the IIT DBGroup. His research interests span several areas of database systems including data provenance, data integration, query execution and optimization, and data curation. He strives to build real systems that are based on solid theoretical foundations. He received a Diploma (Master) in Computer Science from the RWTH Aachen in Germany, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Zurich in Switzerland under advisors Michael Bohlen and Gustavo Alonso. He then spent two years as a PostDoc in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto working at the Database Research Group under Renee J. Miller before joining IIT in 2012.
