Virtual via Zoom
Systems Lunch
Speaker: Işil Dillig

Program synthesis techniques aim to generate executable programs from expressions of user intent. This talk will showcase various applications of program synthesis across different layers of the software stack, starting from computer end-users to application programmers and all the way down to systems programmers. It will also highlight the usefulness of program synthesis for addressing different software concerns, including functionality, correctness, performance, and security.

Bio: Isil Dillig is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin where she leads the UToPiA research group. Her main research area is programming languages, with a specific emphasis on program synthesis and static analysis. The techniques developed by her group aim to make software systems more reliable, secure, and easier to build in a robust way. Dr. Dillig is a Sloan Fellow and a recipient of the NSF CAREER award. She obtained all her degrees (BS, MS, and PhD) from Stanford University.
