In the last 10 years, Face Recognition Technology has been widely deployed for a variety of uses. Some of these uses save people time and money, but other uses create significant problems: violating people’s rights and further exacerbating the mistreatment of certain groups in society. Professor Learned-Miller will talk about how face recognition works, some of the positive and negative aspects, why we should regulate it carefully, and how we can go about doing so.
