US News & World Report Best Grad Schools Rankings

In the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings released April 7, the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS) at UMass Amherst ranks #25 among graduate computer science programs nationwide.

CICS also continues to rank among the nation’s leading programs in artificial intelligence, placing #18 in the Artificial Intelligence specialty area.

The U.S. News & World Report graduate computer science rankings reflect the assessments of deans and senior faculty members at peer institutions. U.S. News also uses peer assessment to evaluate graduate programs in computer science specialty areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Programming Languages, Systems, and Theory.
