Informatics Curriculum Changes
This page outlines recent updates to the Informatics curriculum, specifically courses that have been removed and no longer count toward degree requirements.
These changes become effective during a specific requirement term, so changes may not affect all active Informatics majors. A requirement term is a specific semester, typically when a student enters their major, that determines the associated academic requirements in force during that time.
Fall 2025 and Forward — Electives Removed
Starting the Fall 2025 requirement term, the following courses will be removed from the list of approved electives for Informatics majors. This means that students whose requirement term is Fall 2025 or forward (e.g., Spring 2026, Fall 2026) cannot use these courses to fulfill an elective on the Academic Requirements Report (ARR).

Students with requirement terms prior to Fall 2025 (e.g., Spring 2025, Fall 2024, etc.) are not affected by this change. They can still count these courses towards their elective requirements.
