Zhiqiu Jiang

Postdoctoral Research Associate


Zhiqiu Jiang is a postdoctoral fellow in the College of Information and Computer Science at University of Massachusetts Amherst. She received her Ph.D. in Constructed Environment from University of Virginia (UVA), Masters from SUNY Buffalo, and B.Eng from Sichuan University. She was selected as a Presidential Fellow of School of Data Science and a Praxis Fellow in Digital Humanities at UVA. She also served as a graduate GIS (Geographic Information System) technician at UVA's Spatial Tech group. Her research is highly interdisciplinary and focuses on empowering AI and data-informed decision-making for social good. Her research interests include a variety of topics about smart cities, including computational social science, human-computer interaction, urban big data mining and informatics, human mobility information retrieval with text mining, machine learning in travel behavior analysis.
