Advice

  • Be a self-advocate! UMass is a big place; however, it gets much smaller once you reach out and make a connection.
  • Make the most of your UMass experience; work hard, study what interests you, follow your heart, stay focused on the goal of earning a degree and have fun!
  • Make a professional connection with at least one professor every semester.
  • See your advisor early and often.

Likes Best:  Working with and helping students identify their strengths and interests while they navigate the university, develop academic goals, and (most importantly) empowering them to achieve their goals.

Education:  MEd, Bowling Green State University; BS, physical education, Norwich University

Background: Boisseau has had an eclectic career and all of his career "stops" have one thing in common, helping people achieve their goals. Here are some of his career ventures:

  • Academic Advisor for undeclared students
  • Mortgage Originator for a local mortgage company
  • Contractor for the US Army
  • Athletic and personal trainer
  • Retired US Army Officer
