CICS Students Part of Winning Teams at Innovation Challenge Minute Pitch

The Minute Pitch, the first phase of the 2017-2018 Innovation Challenge, kicked-off on October 25, with College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS) students participating in teams that won first and third place.

At this first Innovation Challenge event of the semester, 22 teams pitched their venture ideas to a panel of judges, while being cheered on by students, faculty, and other supporters. $2,500 in prize money was awarded to the first, second, and third-place teams, as well as the audience choice team selection.

CICS students Mike Keegan ('18) was part of the first-place and the audience choice award-winning team, Easy Lock; Paul Maurais ('18) and Sepehr Sokhanvar ('21) were part of the third-place team, TernAway.

Next up in the four-part Innovation Challenge series is The Seed Pitch, set for Wednesday, Nov. 29. This competition simulates the closed-door pitch process and $15,000 in prizes will be awarded as determined by the panel of judges.
