Bright Ideas: Students Develop Creative Technologies at Wearable Electronics Workshop

Wearable Electronics - Illuminated Origami

On October 15th, approximately 50 CICS students participated in the college's popular wearable electronics workshop led by Rui Wang, associate professor of computer science.

During the workshop, Wang used his expertise in computer graphics to help students design and create a wide variety of animated light patterns using microcontroller programming. The resulting creations included accessories, decorations, and works of art such as the illuminated origami shown above.

The event is just one example of how CICS researchers and faculty are preparing the next generation of inventors through hands-on, fun activities.
