Job Description:

The College of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for research faculty positions in Computer Science for the 2018-2019 academic year. 
 
Applications for Assistant and Associate level Research Professors in various fields of the Information and Computer Sciences will be considered, but we are particularly interested in individuals with a concentration in Data Science. Under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks may receive consideration.

Assistant/Associate Research Professors

  • Conduct and publish novel computer science research.
  • As faculty members, contribute to the intellectual vibrancy of the College of Information and Computer Sciences through discussion and collaboration with other faculty, as well as postdocs, staff, and students.
  • Serve as advisors to graduate research assistants in their projects, education and theses.
  • Present research to the national and international research communities, industry and research sponsors.
  • Write research proposals for sponsorship.
  • Perform faculty service within the College of Information and Computer Sciences and across the University.
  • At the Research Faculty member's option, teach classes at the graduate and/or undergraduate level.


Requirements:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related area, and should show evidence of exceptional research promise.
