Introduction to D-Wave annealing-based quantum computers

D-Wave's annealing-based quantum processors are designed to (probabilistically) solve NP-hard optimization problems using a {\em quantum annealing}  algorithm, which belongs to the {\em adiabatic}  model of quantum computation. The algorithm is implemented in hardware that has quantum properties such as superposition, entanglement, and tunneling.  The most recent generation processor, the D-Wave 2000Q launched in 2017,  contains  2000+ qubits.

This talk presents an overview of these novel computing systems, describe their basic properties and survey what is known about performance.
