Come learn about CICS's new graduate certificate program in Information Security Management. This program offers training in applied information security, policy, and risk management. This five-course certificate is geared towards students who seek new or expanded roles in information security, whether in corporate, government, or educational institutions. This is the first series of graduate-level courses from CICS that are geared towards students with experience in information technology, and does not assume a computer science undergraduate degree.

The next course, Introduction to Computer Security (CICS 597C), will begin on April 4. This 3-credit, accelerated course ends on May 25, and is available to students seeking in-person instruction or remote participation via online materials.  The course provides an introduction to the principles and practice of computer and network security with a focus on both fundamentals and practical information. The key topics of this course are: applied cryptography; protecting users, data, and services; network security, and common threats and defense strategies.  Students will complete practical hands-on exercises and assignments. The course is geared towards students with a background in information technology, but does not assume a computer science undergraduate degree.
