The CARE Working Group on Mentoring PhD Students Seeking Academic Jobs and the CICS Writing Center invite MS and PhD students to this workshop, where we will discuss how to get started on writing the different statements - personal, research, diversity, and teaching - required for faculty job applications. During the workshop, current CICS faculty and former graduate students will discuss the challenge of getting started on writing faculty job statements and the difficult task of sharing experiences and research in way that matters to a hiring committee. This workshop will be interactive, so please bring questions and concerns.

If you have been wondering about how much time it should take to write your personal statement or how you will go about writing a teaching statement when you've never taught a class, we'll address these questions and more during the workshop. We look forward to seeing you there.
