Data Science Tea

Welcome back! We are excited to introduce the second year of Data Science Tea events. The first Data Science Tea of the year will be held on September 13th. Tea, coffee, and refreshments will be served.  This Tea will consist of a series of introductory and overview talks to kick off the Fall semester:

  • Professor Andrew McCallum and Executive Director Brant Cheikes will speak about the Center for Data Science
  • Entrepreneur-in-Residence Steve Willis and Shiri Dori-Hacohen will discuss the CICS entrepreneurship program
  • New faculty in Data Science will be introduced
  • Professor Erik Learned-Miller will describe the new computing cluster at the MGHPCC
  • Pam Mandler will provide information about AWS Cloud Computing resources
  • And More!

Data Science Teas will be held every Tuesday from 4-5pm in CS Building Rooms 150 & 151. The Teas host informal technical conversations about topics in data science, and take a variety of formats, such as: presentations by a single speaker; multiple short 10-minute talks; poster sessions; and whiteboard sessions where students share their latest research.
