In this workshop, we will explore strategies to create an inclusive classroom community for International students in higher education. We will examine expectations in higher education contexts, cover concepts about language learning, and explore strategies for supporting linguistically diverse students that can be applied both in the classroom and for creating course material.
The presenter, Dr. Pamela A. Shea, is a Faculty member in the English as a Second Language Program at UMass, Amherst. She has over 20 years of experience in various contexts teaching Academic English to English as an additional language (EAL) students.
